I’m going to ask you a question and I want you to be reeeeaaally honest with yourself. How many unnecessary items have you bought in the past few months that cost $15 or more? If you’re like me that answer is probably more than you’re willing to admit. A cute stuffed animal. The 18th new shade of lipstick in my makeup bag. Some random contraption I don’t even know how to use. The list is endless. I get it– I’ve been there.
Now, here’s your second question. How many of those products actually brought you closer to your goal of a happier and healthier life? I’m guessing not that many. If you have $10 and you’re interested in starting meditation, this is the book for you! I recommend this book over and over again in my meditation posts and for good reason! It’s one of the absolute best beginner’s guides to meditation out there. The book comes with a CD of guided meditations too, so it’s basically like a two-for-one. YES!

I’m a simple gal, so this is my all-time favorite spiralizer! This little gadget alone increased my veggie consumption at least three-fold. It’s small and so easy-to-use! You don’t need to crank or do anything fancy. Just stick a carrot/zucchini/whatever in and turn! Easy peasy.
I’m a huge fan of Dr. Mark Hyman, a pioneer of functional medicine. This book covers all aspects of healthy living, including diet, exercise, and supplements. It also has delicious recipes!
If you have a few extra bucks to spare, I also recommend Food: What the Heck Should I Eat? by Dr. Hyman (it’s $19 so sadly it didn’t qualify for this list). It’s his newest book and gives you an eye-opening look at the role food plays in our health. In my opinion, any book by Dr. Hyman qualifies as one of the best health and wellness products you can buy!
This is pretty much my favorite cookbook of all time. Eating grain-free can be a challenge and often people shy away from Paleo recipes because they tend to be complicated. What I love about this cookbook is that all the recipes are so simple and quick with minimal ingredients! This is the perfect healthy cookbook for both Paleo and non-Paleo eaters (I don’t follow the Paleo diet, but use this book regularly).
If you do buy the book, be sure to check out the Zesty Citrus Pulled Chicken recipe on page 51. It’s one of my go-tos for lazy weeknights! This is one of my favorite workout DVDs for exercisers of all levels! It includes four quick, calorie-burning workouts that are upbeat and fun! I love Jessica Smith and this DVD is gold for busy weekdays when you don’t have time for the gym. I’m a group fitness instructor and this is in my top 10 most-used exercise DVDs for sure!
Journaling is a healthy habit in so many ways, so I just had to add my favorite journal to this list of cheap health and wellness products! This gorgeous journal is less than $5 and is one of the countless amazing journals from Peter Pauper Press! I have so many of their journals including this one here and this other one here. The paper is high quality and the covers are always beautiful. They make great gifts too!
This popular DVD from well-known celebrity trainer Jillian Michaels is a steal at $7! This is one of my favorite interval workouts of all time. It’s a tough workout, but it has modifications so beginners can do it too! The DVD cover boasts “Lose Up to 20 Pounds in 30 Days”, so you know this is a real deal workout. Get ready to sweat!
Need an affordable, but durable yoga mat? This is the one! I own several yoga mats (including this amazing but expensive one here) and this one stands up to the best of them. Through countless downward dogs and warrior poses, this mat holds strong! One of the best health and wellness products on Amazon!
Is it just me or is it time for a snack? 😋 If you haven’t tried TigerNuts, head over to Amazon now and buy yourself a bag! They are sweet, addicting, and full of healthy pre-biotic fiber. Despite the name, TigerNuts are actually small root vegetables and some claim that they comprised a large part of our ancestors’ diet. As such, they are Paleo-friendly and AIP (see my other AIP snack recommendations here)! Try them on yogurt, in trail mix, or right out of the bag! YUM! One of the best health and wellness products on Amazon for sure!
I strongly advise that everyone read The Book of Joy at least once in their lifetime. This enlightening book written by Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama holds the key to a happier and healthier life. Healthy living is not just about what you eat or how much you exercise. It’s an attitude, an inner state, and a way of life. This book will teach you how to get there. Life-changing wisdom for less than $15!
This cookbook by Gwyneth Paltrow is a gem! It not only has delicious recipes, but also gorgeous photos that will inspire you to live a healthier life. All the recipes are free of gluten, dairy, nightshades, sugar, and other inflammatory foods. Try the Thai-Style Chicken Burger– it’s SO SO (All) Good! Note: Only the Kindle edition is in the $15 range, but I recommend the harcover one since the photos are so beautiful.
If you’re curious about Qigong, but don’t know where to start, this DVD is perfect for you! Start a new healthy habit for under $11. Qigong is the coordinated movement of body and breath to promote health and emotional wellness (learn more about it here). It’s easy on the joints and super relaxing! This Qigong DVD teaches the Eight Pieces of Brocade, a form of medical Qigong aimed at improving health. Although it is designed for beginners, those who are already familiar with Qigong can benefit as well.
I also recommend the Lee Holden: Qi Workout Am/Pm DVD. It’s under $15 as well and has two routines aimed at creating more energy during the day and better sleep at night.
This $4 massage stick is designed for reflexology, the gentle application of pressure on various points in the feet. I use this massage stick every night before bed to help me sleep. It works wonders! Reflexology is similar to accupressure and is shown to alleviate stress (read about it here). You’ll need to do a little research to learn which points work best for your purposes, but this guide from mindbodygreen will get your started!
Note: Self reflexology is generally safe and easy-to-do, but make sure you do proper research and speak to your physician to decide if it’s right for you!

The book also has yoga routines and poses with different goals in mind, such as emotional health and hormones. It even has a section on mindful eating!
